Sydney Swans vice-captain Dan Hannebery has been named to return to the side to take on Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday.
Hannebery will bolster the Swans midfield for the all-important match having not played since Round 16 due to a calf injury.
Dan Robinson (omitted) makes way for the 27-year-old’s return.
The three-time All-Australian has managed just 11 matches this season due to injury but returns at a vital time for the Swans.
“Hanners has had a really good, strong week at training and trained really sharply during his last session so it is great to have him back in the side,” Coach John Longmire told QBE Team Selection.
“He adds to our midfield depth and is obviously a class player.
“They are the highest scoring team in the competition so they rely upon their midfield to get the ball forward and be able to score heavily.”
Gary Rohan also trained strongly with teammates on Friday afternoon and has been named to return in the NEAFL side who take on Canberra on Saturday afternoon.
