The return of speedster Gary Rohan features among two changes for the Sydney Swans’ clash with Carlton in Marn Grook at the SCG on Friday night.
The forward will return after missing Sydney’s match against the Brisbane Lions last week, while Nic Newman has also earned an AFL recall.
Tom Papley (managed) will miss the game, while Tom McCartin has been omitted.
Swans coach John Longmire said Newman and Rohan would bring plenty to the table.
“Newman’s form in the reserves has been very good all year and Rohan will play up forward with that real speed at ground level and pressure on the opposition.”
Longmire said Papley was due for a break and another game in the NEAFL would benefit McCartin.
“Papley has been a little bit sore over the last few weeks and he just needs a bit of a rest,” Longmire said.
“McCartin has had three games in the seniors now and it’s just part of his development program.”
