Zak Jones will look to take his game to a new level this season as he eyes a potential move into the midfield.
It was a breakthrough third season of football for the 21-year-old as he went on to play 16 games across half back, including the Grand Final.
One to never shy away from the contest, Jones began to showcase his ability to set up attack from defence as the season went on.
After a strong pre-season training block, Jones said he was striving to achieve more in 2017.
“I feel really confident with what I can do through the year and I don’t question myself anymore,” Jones told FOX Sports News.
“I think I have got the confidence to play at that level and hopefully I carry that confidence through to 2017.
“I really enjoy the challenge of a new opponent each week that you have to face up to and that is what drives me.”
Jones may play more midfield minutes this season following the departure of Tom Mitchell during the off-season.
Should he be presented with the opportunity to play further up the field, Jones said he would welcome it with open arms.
“I might play a little bit more midfield along with a bit down back,” he said.
“We will swing between there, both me, Millsy and Isaac, so it will be fun to get through there.”
Jones is set to feature in Friday’s intra club contest at Henson Park starting at 5.30pm. Click here for more information on the match.
