Lewis Melican and Will Hayward are in line for the 2017 AFL Rising Star award set to be announced in Melbourne this afternoon.
Melican was nominated for the award after his Round 18 performance against St Kilda in which he gathered 15 possessions with an 87 percent disposal efficiency and eight contested possessions.
It has been a breakthrough year for the 20-year-old defender who has played 17 matches since making his debut against Greater Western Sydney in Round 5.
Hayward has also shone through in his first season of AFL football playing 17 matches since his debut against the Bulldogs in Round 2.
The livewire forward has booted 22 goals this season playing an important role in the functioning of the Swans forward line.
It took until the final round of the season for Hayward to earn his nomination after a three-goal performance against Carlton at the SCG.
The Swans have a rich history in the award with Adam Goodes, Dan Hannebery and Callum Mills among the previous winners of the Ron Evans Medal.
Mills will join his teammates at the function to play the important role of handing over the honour to the 2017 winner.
The 2017 NAB AFL Rising Star will be broadcast nationally on FOX FOOTY at 1.30pm-2.45pm AEST on Friday, September 1 including a LIVE reveal of the winner.
