The Sydney Swans have made an additional two changes to their playing list for season 2020 with Daniel Menzel and Jack Maibaum being delisted.

Menzel began his AFL career at the Geelong Cats where played 73 games, kicked 136 goals and showed incredible resilience to come back from four knee reconstructions.

The 28-year-old joined Sydney as a delisted free agent last year, but pre-season groin surgery limited the forward to seven games and seven goals in the red and white.

Defender Maibaum joined Sydney with pick 45 at the 2016 AFL Draft from the Eastern Ranges.

Maibaum, who spent this season recovering from a knee reconstruction, didn’t feature at AFL level, however he has been invited to continue training with the Swans.

Sydney Swans Head of Football Charlie Gardiner said it was a tough decision to delist the pair.

“On behalf of all at the Swans, I’d like to thank Dan and Jack for their commitment during their time at Sydney,” Gardiner said.

“Unfortunately Jack was hampered by his ACL injury last season, but when he was able to play showed promise in the NEAFL.

“Likewise, Dan was restricted due to injury this season. He’s been a fantastic character to have around our club and applied himself with tremendous effort.

“Everyone at the club wishes Dan and Jack all the best for their future.”
