The Sydney Swans have finalised their playing list for 2017 with nine new players being drafted to the team.

Recruited from: Sandringham Dragons

Position: Forward
What Kin says: He's got the ability to play as a hybrid mid that can rotate through as an inside onballer, and he can also play as a half forward who kicks goals.
Will Hayward
Pick 21, 2016 AFL National Draft
Recruited from: North Adelaide
DOB: 26/10/1998
Height: 186cm
Weight: 76kg
Position: Forward
What Kin says: Will came on really well late in the year, and his finals series for North Adelaide in the under 18's was quite spectacular as a medium forward. We challenged him in an interview during the year about his endurance and we were pleased to hear that as soon as he left he'd organised a personal trainer. It told us how much he wanted to be drafted.
Jack Maibaum

What Kin says: We wanted to bolster our key position stocks, which is why we took Jack. He can play at both ends of the ground but was named All Australian for Vic Metro this year as a defender, and we're really pleased with the way he goes about it.

What Kin says: With Toby (Nankervis) going to Richmond, we were keen to get a tall player in who could play ruck and forward. Like a lot of ruckmen, he's taken a while to come along, but I think the change out of Western Australia will be good for him.

What Kin says: Ben is a real live wire and reminds us a fair bit of a young Kieren Jack. He is hard at the ball and covers the ground really well and for long periods. We love the energy that he plays with and the velocity at which he attacks the ball.
Robbie Fox

What Kin says: Robbie is an older player who took footy up as his principle sport late. He is originally from Tasmania and focussed on basketball making the U16 and U20 state team. He is a good-sized midfielder at 187cm and is strong around the ball.
Shaun Edwards

What Kin says: We saw Shaun late in the year playing for Essendon in the VFL and he was doing some good things there. He is a good ball user and he runs well. He has been doing some training with a personal trainer and has been smashing the running, so he adds to our running stocks on the outside.

What Kin says: Toby is a key position player who relocated to Adelaide this year and played most of his football at Glenelg. He is a raw-boned athlete with red hair standing 194cm so he has a good athletic profile in terms of power and speed.

What Kin says: What attracted us to Sam is his clean hands and his clever left foot, which he uses to either set up teammates in position or kick goals himself.
