The Sydney Swans ruck stocks received a boost at training on Tuesday with injured big men Kurt Tippett and Callum Sinclair training strongly with the team.
Tippett resumed full training this week as he continues to recover from an injury to his hamstring tendon.
General Manager of Football Tom Harley says the No. 8 is on track to return in Round 22.
“He’s (Tippett) available to play, coming off the long-term injury list next week, so he’ll have two full weeks of training which is great,” Harley told the HCF injury update.
“He did everything that was required of him to this point: ran, ran fast, marked, competed and obviously some further conditioning, so really positive signs for Kurt.”
Fellow ruckman Callum Sinclair also took part in the training session at the SCG after having surgery on his injured knee.
Sinclair’s training load will be increased over the next week as he presses his case to return, likewise for Dan Robinson who remains hopeful of returning to play this season after undergoing shoulder surgery in May.
Meanwhile Harley has allayed concerns over Gary Rohan, Harry Cunningham and Lance Franklin, who all pulled up sore after the physical encounter with Port Adelaide.
“We expect all those three boys to recover well – they have to this point already – and absolutely expect them to be available to play on Saturday night.”
