Sydney Swans fans will get a 20 per cent discount on food and beverage up until 30 minutes before the bounce of the ball at the SCG this season.
The Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust and caterers Delaware North have partnered to offer the discount to encourage fans to arrive early, catch public transport and make the most of the event day experience at Moore Park.
The offer will be available at upcoming Sydney FC, Sydney Roosters, NSW Waratahs, Sydney Swans, St George Illawarra and South Sydney games as well as the Socceroos FIFA World Cup Qualifier at Allianz Stadium. The early bird discount does not apply to bars and some premium outlets.
Trust Chief Executive Jamie Barkley said the initiative was about encouraging fans and their families to arrive early and save.
"You can support your team in a great atmosphere and save 20 per cent on food and drinks," he said.
"Allianz Stadium boasts free wi-fi, the best superscreens in Australia, a 1200-screen IPTV network and an app that means you can order from your seat – it doesn’t get any better."
Sharon Arrow, General Manager of Hospitality and Sporting Services at Delaware North: "We're turning food and drink prices back to 2010 to encourage people to get to the ground early for upcoming sporting fixtures at the SCG and Allianz Stadium."
"We've seen this kind of offer work in the past and during the NRL Finals series fans snatched up the five dollar pie and soft drink combo at the Sydney Live Plaza – a discount of more than 50 per cent.
“Up until 30 minutes before kick off, Sydney’s sports fans can get a wide variety of food and drinks at both venues and save 20 per cent along the way.”
A sporting bonanza will take place at Moore Park over the coming months with the announcement of all Sydney Swans games to be played at the SCG, alongside NSW Waratahs, Sydney FC and Sydney Roosters fixtures at Allianz Stadium.
Major upcoming events include a FIFA World Cup Qualifier and the Anzac Day Cup at Allianz Stadium. Meanwhile the SCG will host the NRL Heritage Round and the Sydney Swans 350th game on the hallowed turf when they play Collingwood in round one.
