Coaches John Longmire and Alan Richardson couldn’t look past Lance Franklin on Saturday night awarding him maximum votes for his dominant performance against the Saints.
Franklin received a perfect ten votes in this year’s AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award after he kicked six goals to go with his career-high 28 disposals, nine marks and four tackles.
The goal-kicker wasn’t the only Swan to be recognised by the coaches with Luke Parker (eight votes) and Dan Hannebery (five votes) rewarded after they combined for 70 possessions and four goals.
Fellow midfielders Josh Kennedy and Jake Lloyd were also given three votes apiece while young gun Callum Mills received one vote.
Overall, Swans pair Parker and Hannebery are tied in fifth place on 77 votes while Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield still leads the pack on 105 votes.
