Thousands of fans have joined the Sydney Swans to celebrate the start of the footy season at the 2016 Fan Day, presented by Volkswagen, on Sunday.
The wet weather did not deter the Swans faithful who packed into the Entertainment Quarter in red and white for a fun-filled morning with the team.
Fans had the chance to get a photo and autograph with their favourite players as the entire playing group was on hand to join in the festivities.
It was also a great morning of fun in the Volkswagen Fan Zone with handball and kicking challenges, face painting stations and plenty more.
Charity partner Redkite was on hand alongside the Swans membership and merchandise marquees while the Channel 7 interview station was a hit with the fans.
The Swans also announced at Fan Day that over 31,000 members have already joined the team ahead of the premiership season.
Star midfielder Josh Kennedy thanked those members and supporters who braved the inclement weather to show their support of the club.
“It is fantastic to see so many people come out today,” Kennedy said.
“The weather was obviously pretty ordinary earlier today so to see so many people here wanting to be involved with our club is fantastic.”
