Midfielder Tom Mitchell believes continuity has been key to the Sydney Swans' success in this finals series and should hold them in good stead in Saturday's grand final.
Mitchell was among the standouts against the Geelong on Friday night, collecting 27 disposals and laying six tackles in a win rubber stamped by a first-quarter blitz of seven unanswered goals from the minor premiers.
The Swans hit the contest hard from the opening bounce and never looked back, holding a five-to-six-goal buffer throughout the course of the match to win through their third grand final appearance in five years.
It follows the previous' weeks efforts against Adelaide at the SCG in which the home side rattled the opposition in a similar fashion, with a seven-goal opening which ultimately set up the strong win.
Up against the Dogs with the premiership on the line, Mitchell believes the way his side has responded from the disappointing display against GWS in the opening week of finals has been telling.
"Everyone's feeling good. We obviously had a rest a few weeks ago (but) we've got some continuity now," Michell said.
"We've had two solid, high-intensity games of finals footy which should hold us in good stead.
"The game is usually won or lost in that midfield and we had a lot of guys step up (on Friday night) - our weight of numbers through there was awesome.
"We're going to have to bring all that again (this) week."
A few of Mitchell's midfield counterparts will be attending a special Brownlow Medal function at the SCG as part of Melbourne's official night of nights.
Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker, Kieren Jack and Dan Hannebery will be joined by Lance Franklin for the dinner which will be crossed to live by Channel 7 during official proceedings at Melbourne's Crown Palladium.
