The Sydney Swans have had to take the good with the bad at the selection table this week in preparation for Saturday's clash with North Melbourne in Hobart.
As expected, Sydney's big man department will receive a massive boost as Kurt Tippett makes his way back for Round 22 encounter against the Kangaroos.
The 29-year-old ruckman hasn't played since injuring his hamstring tendon in Round 12, but has trained strongly in the past two weeks to warrant his long-awaited selection.
But in a blow to the Swans' midfield, co-captain Kieren Jack won't be making the trip south after hurting his ankle at training on Thursday and will subsequently miss what coach John Longmire hopes "at this stage" is just one week.
Tippett replaces fellow ruckman Toby Nankervis who's been omitted, while Ben McGlynn comes in for his injured skipper.
The two changes come after a fortnight of stability whereby the Swans went in unchanged against Port Adelaide and St Kilda.
"Just goes to show things can change pretty quickly," Longmire said.
"Obviously happening on a Thursday means he won’t be available for this week. We're hoping it's only a 'one-weeker'.
"Ben (McGlynn) gets another opportunity so that's terrific for him (and) Kurt is really keen to go."
The Swans' last and only match at Bellerive Oval came in Round 3, 2013, against North Melbourne of which finished in a 37-point win.
They've won 10 of the past 12 matches, the last coming in Round 10 earlier this season when the Swans beat the previously undefeated Kangaroos' at the SCG.
