Veteran duo Ted Richards and Ben McGlynn will give selectors something to think about this week after impressing in Saturday's NEAFL practice match against GWS.

In an experienced side full of notable AFL names, both Richards and McGlynn got through unscathed in the 61-point win at Blacktown International Sportspark.

It was a positive step in their respective comebacks from calf injuries and should trouble the selectors when Match Committee convenes ahead of the Swans' second round clash with Carlton at Etihad Stadium.

NEAFL coach Rhyce Shaw said the duo brushed off the cobwebs and produced solid performances.

"They came on after quarter-time and worked into the game well," he said.

"They were obviously a bit rusty having not played since last season so they'll be better for the journey.

"Benny was lively and chipped in with a goal while Teddy was solid down back."

James Rose, Jordan Dawson and Nic Newman starred in the 19.15 (129) to10.8 (68) with Rose kicking three goals, while Abe Davis also chipped in with three majors.

QBE Sydney Swans Academy top up Matthew Wilson was also a strong contributor.

"It was really hard to pick out individual efforts. We had an even spread right across the board," Shaw added.

"Our pressure was good, the intensity was good and we were able to reward our efforts with scores. It gives us great momentum going into Saturday's first round."

The NEAFL Swans travel to Burpengary, Queensland, for an opening round clash against Brisbane.
