All Australian defender Dane Rampe has highlighted his competitiveness as his key strength as he prepares to tackle the best forwards in the game during the 2016 Finals Series.
Rampe has had his best season to date since making his debut as a mature aged recruit in 2013.
The dashing defender is one of the most versatile in the competition with his ability to play on opponents of all different sizes.
Not only his ability to shut down an opponent but the way he can use the ball out of defence to set up the Swans’ attack has been a shining light throughout 2016.
The 26-year-old said he was pleased to be able to maintain his consistency throughout the season.
“My greatest strength is my competitiveness,” Rampe said.
“It is not that I hate to lose but it is that I hate to let the boys down,
“Sometimes my technical side might not be there, my form in terms of the way I am defending might not be perfect but I think the desperation not to get beaten and let the boys down is what drives me.”
