The Sydney Swans have been nominated for an award in the Sport category at the 2016 Australian Multicultural Marketing Awards.
It follows our Chinese community engagement work this season, which saw the club introduce a number of Chinese media representatives to their first game of AFL.
The work is part of the Club’s broader outreach strategy to introduce new parts of the community to AFL football and ensure everyone feels welcome at our games.
The Swans are the only AFL club to be nominated for the award this year, and will face competition in the category from Cricket Australia and the ARL.
Now in their 27th year, the AMMA’s recognise the best in multicultural marketing and communications.
The awards are being held at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday 6 December.
