Sydney midfielder Jake Lloyd is the latest Swans player to put pen to paper signing a two-year contract extension.
The new deal will see Lloyd remain in red and white until at least the end of season 2018.
Recruited via the rookie draft with pick 16 in 2012, Lloyd spent his first year on Sydney’s list developing his game in the NEAFL.
After earning the call-up to make his debut in Round 5 of 2014, Lloyd seized his opportunity and went on to play the remaining 21 games of the season – including all three finals.
Since his debut, the 22-year-old from Horsham in country Victoria has played 60 of a possible 61 games and become an integral member of the team.
Sydney Swans General Manager of Football Tom Harley says the Club is rapt to have Lloyd locked in.
“It’s great to have another up-and-coming player recommit to the Swans,” Harley said.
“Jake has been really consistent for us this year. His versatility is very important and he has developed trust amongst his team mates.
“We’re looking forward to seeing Jake continue to develop and take his game to the next level.”
Lloyd follows Kieren Jack, Nick Smith, Luke Parker, Jeremy Laidler, Harry Cunningham, George Hewett, Aliir Aliir and Tom Papley in recommitting to the Swans this season.
