Last time they met
The Swans came into their Saturday night clash against Adelaide having lost eight of their past nine matches against the Crows. Going into the game with an injury list growing week by week, the Swans added to their woes when Henry Playfair went down with a hamstring injury early in the first quarter and Adam Goodes further aggravated his groin.

It was Adelaide that got out to an early start, leading at the first change by nine points, and despite relentless forward pressure by the Swans in the second quarter, their inaccuracy in front of goal saw them chasing the Crows in the second half. The Swans kicked two goals and five behinds to Adelaide’s five goals and one behind to go into the main break trailing by 23 points.
In a hard-fought third quarter both the Swans and the Crows remained goalless. In the end, it was the Crows who ran out the fourth quarter the hardest, kicking three goals to Sydney’s two to finish the game 24-point victors.
