Sydney Swans big man Kurt Tippett admits it will be frustrating sitting on the sidelines watching his side tackle Port Adelaide on Thursday night.
Tippett and teammate Lance Franklin both accepted one match bans from the match review panel for separate incidents stemming from Friday night’s loss to Richmond.
The 28-year-old said he was not looking forward to having to watch on from the stands.
“It is very frustrating and disappointing to miss when you are suspended because you are physically fine and mentally fine so you want to play,” Tippett said.
“I will be training very hard alongside Bud to make sure we are in the best possible shape to come out the following week and play Brisbane.
“We will get down to the rooms before the game to make sure we are down and around the place really encouraging the guys and helping out the guys that might be filling those sort of roles.”
Tippett regrets that the striking charge he was found guilty of against Dylan Grimes even occurred.
“It was a bit of a clumsy incident to be honest and not one that I am proud of,” he said.
“Everything happens pretty quickly, I got caught up there and I have collected him high so unfortunately the rules are the rules.”
“If you get the guy high you have to cop the penalty.”
Without Franklin or Tippett in the forward half the Swans may try a different option with a smaller look forward line.
The pair have combine for 58 goals this season to spearhead the Swans forward line.
“There are some good options with some guys in good form in the NEAFL competition for us which is great so someone might get an opportunity there,” Tippett told Sports Fan Club House.
“When these things happen you can change up your forward line and potentially play a bit smaller and play a bit quicker.
“It is obviously a bit unknown, obviously we do a lot of training together and what have you so it is going to look a little bit different.
“It could be a win for us to play a bit smaller, a bit faster and a bit more unpredictable I guess."
