Swans co-captain Kieren Jack on...

Win against Hawthorn In Round 8:

“There was a lot of pressure and build up to that game, to beat them was pleasing and a confidence booster but in effect it’s got little say in what goes on. This week is another week, they would have learned a few things from that game and this weekend may be approached differently.”

Hawthorn’s win over Fremantle:

“You have to admire how dominant they can be, they were super impressive there’s no doubt about that. They had a couple of players out, a big game and big hype and they performed at a really, really high level. It shocked a lot of people in the football world, obviously it didn’t shock us at all because we know they’re a quality team. That’s why they’ve won the last couple of premierships.”

The build up to Saturday night:

“It’s a big game, a lot of people are going to tune in and watch it and it’s an important game with how the ladder sits. We’re not shying away and they’re not shying away, we just have to be prepared mentally to bring a real fierce and high pressured brand of footy. If we think we can do that, we’ll be in with a chance.”

Gary Rohan and Ben McGlynn absence:

“They are big outs. Gary Rohan was superb against hawthorn last time, his pressure and chase down on some of their defenders were key to us especially early. Ben McGlynn is another who we know can do that, so we’ll be reliant on maybe some mids to go through there. I might go through there, or we might have to chuck Lewis Jetta down there at times – just to have some speed. If we’ve got some quick forwards that can go down there and put heat on, it could possibly unsettle their defence and that’s important.”

Sam Mitchell:

“I don't think you can let him (run free). I don't think any team wants to let him, but he keeps finding a way to find the footy. He's a really good player, he's a smart player who has been around the game for a long time, so we'll do our homework on him like a lot of their other players."
