Sydney Swans fan Karen Tancred tells us the story of how she changed from an Adelaide support to follow the red and white.
I started following AFL after I moved from Sydney to Adelaide.
My stepdad introduced me to the game, watched it on TV and went to a Crows match at Football Park in 1992.
I was hooked from then on, became a Crows season ticket holder for 7 years.
I did keep an eye on my other team, the Swans. They were the wooden spoon for 3 years in a row at the time but I still had a soft spot for them.
I even wore my Swans scarf to a Crows match when they played in Adelaide much to the surprise of my fellow Crows supporters around me.
I eventually became a Swans supporter in 1999. Fate intervened when I met my husband who is from Sydney. I moved back to Sydney in late 2000, got him to follow AFL and signed up both of us to become Swans season ticket holders for 3 years, had a break while starting a family and now back on board with our two daughters!
