The Star and the Sydney Swans have announced a renewed partnership, with The Star remaining a Premier Partner and Official Entertainment Venue Partner of the Sydney Swans for the 2015 season.
To celebrate the partnership, four of the Sydney Swans - Lewis Jetta, Ben McGlynn, Sam Reid and Jeremy Laidler - headed to The Star this week for a masterclass in sushi making in the Sokyo Kitchen, under the expert guidance of sushi chef Takashi Sano.
As the club’s home away from home, The Star will play host to the Sydney Swan’s major events including the Guernsey Presentation and Club Champion Dinner for the second year running as well as offering a range of options for post-game entertainment for fans including live music and more across The Star’s 20 bars and restaurants.
Richard Howarth, General Manager of Marketing and Entertainment said, “The Sydney Swans are an exciting and dynamic football team with a large base of very enthusiastic and loyal followers. The Star is thrilled to be able to support the team for a second year running.”
“With the best viewing platform in the city, the 24/7 Sports Bar is the place to catch all the action for those who can’t get to the game, and we look forward to sharing in the celebrations with the team and fans this season.”
Sydney Swans Head of Strategy and Commercial Grant Rose said the Swans were excited to continue their partnership with The Star.
“The Star is home to two of our most important functions of the year – Club Champion and Guernsey Presentation – and provides a great range of dining and entertainment options for Swans fans, before and after matches,” Rose said.
“It is a world class entertainment destination and we look forward to both our iconic Sydney brands working together on great partnership for our fans,” he said.
As Sydney’s premier entertainment destination, The Star brings stunning views, two hotels, award-winning restaurants, a luxury 16-room spa, a purpose-built Event Centre, and upscale retail and world-class gaming facilities to Sydneysiders and visitors to the harbour city. The venue is also home to 24/7 Sports Bar, Sydney’s home of sport, which features over 50 LCD TVs and Australia’s first paperless TAB.
