The Sydney Swans will return to Coffs Harbour in February for a four day pre-season training camp.

For the fourth straight year, the Swans will set up camp at the Novotel Coffs Harbour Pacific Bay Resort from February 2 to 6.

While in Coffs Harbour, the Swans will hold two open training sessions at C.ex Coffs International Stadium while players will host an AFL clinic for kids, visit schools, run a QBE Sydney Swans Academy session and enjoy some down time in the area.

Coffs Harbour City Council, in conjunction with the Swans, will also host special guests at a function for Coffs Coast businesses and sport stakeholders.

Swans coach John Longmire said the trip will once again form an important part of the club’s pre-season program.

“Coffs Harbour has become our home away from home over the last few years and we’re really excited to get back up there for four days,” Longmire said.

“With the pre-season competition not that far away, the camp will once again provide a great opportunity to fine-tune preparations ahead of what will no doubt be another huge year.

“I encourage all Swans fans from Coffs Harbour and surrounds to attend our open training sessions or come along to the kids clinic and see the team in action ahead of the start of the new season.”

The junior AFL clinic will be held on Wednesday, 3 February 2016 at C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

The day will be a great occasion for kids to meet their favourite players, grab some autographs and photos and have a kick of the footy.

Entry is free to the junior AFL clinic, however, it is essential to register via https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Swansclinic2016. Registrations close on Thursday, 28 January 2016 or until capacity is reached.

With some great community events planned in Coffs Harbour, Coffs Harbour Mayor, Councillor Denise Knight, said the city is again looking forward to hosting the Swans.

“The players and staff have become regular visitors to Coffs in the last few years and have developed a great relationship with the entire local community, not just AFL diehards,” Councillor Knight said.

“This year’s training camp will, like previous years, have lots of opportunities for fans to see the team training and the players will once again be out and about in the community meeting people.

“These visits are always a wonderful way for young fans and youth players to have a chance to play with, and get tips, straight from their heroes. It will be great to have them back.”
