Midfield coach Josh Francou says...

"Dan had a magnificent year. It’s interesting looking at numbers last year compared to this year he spent a lot more time inside. We went through some centre bounce stuff and his numbers have almost doubled in regards to centre bounce involvements compared to 2014. You’re talking about a Dan Hannebery who gets tagged week in, week out. His ability to run, work his opponent over is second to none while he’s also one of those players different positions – he can go forward or play wing. But his year on-ball has been outstanding. He gets ran with heavily so he’s always got someone hanging off him and to do what he has done is a credit to him."

Season highlight...

During the Swans’ Round 10 clash against Gold Coast, Jarrad McVeigh and Dan Hannebery had the ball on a string collecting 17 disposals in the opening term alone.

Hannebery gathered a season-high 42 possessions by game’s end in the 52-point win at Metricon Stadium

But if you would compare that performance next to a game eight weeks on, the plaudits would point to the latter in which Hannebery turned around 40 touches and booted three goals to front arguably the most significant win in the Swans’ 2015 season.

Missing champion Adam Goodes, the home side defeated Adelaide in front of an adoring crowd at the SCG with Hannebery leading by his actions on field that night.

The win arrived after a rough patch and rejuvenated the season at the right time with four wins coming from the next five matches to help seal the double chance on the eve of finals.
