The Sydney Swans have named an unchanged side for Sunday’s round four clash with North Melbourne at the SCG.

The Swans have opted to persist with the side that delivered a 63-point win over the Adelaide Crows at Adelaide Oval last Saturday, the club’s first win for the season.

Swans coach John Longmire told SwansTV’s Centrum Team Selection that he was pleased with his team’s four-quarter effort in last week’s win.

“There are no changes this week and we were happy with how the players played their roles last week,” he said.

“I think it was a really even team performance from Luke Parker right through to our leaders, and over the 22 that played, everyone did important things at important times.

“But that was last week and we’ve got a new challenge this week against the Kangaroos and we’ve got to bring that sort of intensity for four quarters to make sure we give ourselves our best chance.”

Top-ten tips for Swans Members

The Swans will face an in-form North Melbourne outfit this weekend, after they posted a strong victory over Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium last Sunday.

Longmire said the Swans were expecting a tough midfield battle against the Kangaroos, who proved their fitness against the Power last weekend.

“North Melbourne are a high-quality team and they’ve developed a lot of different players through their midfield area in particular that they’ve been able to rotate through.

“(Ben) Cunnington last week played a terrific game and their depth in that area of the ground against a quality Port Adelaide midfield was really highlighted last week.

“That will be a real challenge for us to make sure we keep on top of their mids and run hard both ways and really take some pressure off our defence.”

After two match-winning final terms, Longmire said keeping a handle on North Melbourne goal-sneak Brent Harvey would also be a key focus for the Swans this week.

Important SCG Dress Regulations

“’Boomer’ is still a headache for everyone and in every game he plays he has some sort of say in it,” he said.

“He’s a very good quality player and he uses the ball so well.”

The Swans will host their first match at the SCG this Sunday, which Longmire said would be a boost for his team.

“It’s been fantastic training out there this week,” he said.

“The players have really enjoyed getting on the SCG and looking at the new grandstand and we can’t wait to see it full of red and white … and hopefully that’s the case this weekend.”
