Luke Parker says he is humbled by the honour of being named co-captain of the Sydney Swans for the 2020 season.
The 27-year-old has once again been named alongside Josh Kennedy and Dane Rampe as the leaders of the playing group for next season.
Parker said he was looking forward to once again working closely with Kennedy and Rampe to provide the direction the Club needed.
“I am really humbled to be able to be co-captain again for next year,” Parker said.
“I think the great thing about us is that we have different personalities and strengths and hopefully within that we can bring it all together.
“For one guy to relate to 45 blokes is pretty difficult so to have three different guys who have three different personalities and strengths hopefully means we cover the whole group.”
Parker said the addition of Lance Franklin to the leadership group was exciting for the playing group who continually look up to him around the Club.
“He is probably our most influential player at the Club and I know how much the young guys value his leadership and opinion,” Parker said.
“For him to step up into that role is really crucial for us moving forward.”
Callum Mills is the final member of the leadership group for the 2020 season.
Parker said the youngster had developed his leadership well over the last few seasons at the Club.
“It is great that we have Millsy who is only 22 in the leadership group because he is a fantastic member of our team,” Parker said.
“He started off his career leading by example and showing what he can do on the field and now he has taken another leap into driving the group and the standards.”
“He will be a key pillar for this club for many years to come.”
