As the Sydney Swans wave goodbye to the decade, Swans Media revisits some of the most memorable milestones of the last 10 years.

Jude Bolton’s 300th

September 21, 2012 was a great day for the red-and-white faithful. On the same day Sydney overpowered Collingwood in a 26-point preliminary-final victory to book its place in the Grand Final, the club celebrated the 300-game milestone of one of its favourite sons. Jude Bolton was a spiritual leader in his 325-match career. Unrelenting pressure around the footy had long been a staple of Sydney’s game and Bolton was a driving force, racking up a mountain of clearances and contested possessions. The hard-nosed Swan collected 18 touches (10 contested) and two goals in Sydney’s preliminary-final win against Collingwood, before being chaired from the ground by Adam Goodes and Ryan O’Keefe to the applause of a 57,156-strong crowd.

Adam Goodes’ 350th

Goodes is the only player in Swans history and one of just 16 competition-wide to have reached the 350-game barrier. The dual Brownlow medallist joined the illustrious club as Sydney trumped North Melbourne in a 71-point win at ANZ Stadium in a 2014 preliminary final, placing his name among the company of Michael Tuck, Kevin Bartlett, Robert Harvey and a host of other esteemed footballers. Goodes finished his milestone match with three goals from 17 disposals and was chaired from the ground by Mike Pyke and Kurt Tippett, an adoring crowd of 48,029 watching on.

Kieren Jack’s 200th

Kieren Jack’s well-documented lead-up to his 200th match was a testing time, but the co-captain ensured his milestone game was one to cherish. The hard-running midfielder posted 24 touches (11 contested), five clearances, 10 tackles and three goals to inspire his side to a 38-point win at Kardinia Park in Round 16, 2016. Jack’s partner-turned-wife, Charlotte Goodlet, broke into tears when he booted the opening goal of the game and, fittingly, the man of the moment slotted the final goal of the night. He was then chaired from the field on the shoulders of Jarrad McVeigh and Dan Hannebery.

Gary Rohan’s 100th

The best of footy’s soft side shone through as Gary Rohan walked out at the SCG in Round 7, 2018 for his 100th match with newborn child Bella in his arms. Footballers in their hundreds have walked out for milestone games with a loved one in their company, but this was a different moment. Rohan’s wife Amie had given birth to twin daughters almost a month earlier, but a rare condition meant Willow would die just five hours later. A torrid injury run added to the sense of occasion around Rohan’s special day, his worst setback a broken leg suffered in Round 4, 2012. It had taken him more than eight seasons to reach triple figures.

Lance Franklin’s 300th

One of the most decorated footballers in the game’s history became the 89th player to join the 300-match club when Lance Franklin strode out at the SCG in Round 23, 2019. On one of the most treasured days in Swans history, club greats McVeigh, Jack, Heath Grundy and Nick Smith also farewelled the footy world in Sydney's final game of the season, while the club celebrated its annual Pride Game and Aliir Aliir played his 50th match. Franklin marked the day with four goals as the Swans cruised to a 45-point win over the Saints, and Franklin and all four retiring champions were chaired from the ground at the same time in scenes likely never witnessed before. A surreal afternoon for all 33,722 fans in the crowd.
