"Terrific stuff Sydney. Starts with Shaw, ends with Bird - deserves a goal."
Those were the words of Fox Sports commentator Matthew Campbell as he summated a brilliant passage of play from the Swans in the second quarter of Saturday's 39-point win over the Western Bulldogs.
The ball started with Rhyce Shaw in the Swans backline, who played on from the mark, took a bounce and found Shane Mumford with a pinpoint 40-metre kick.
Mumford quickly realised that Alex Johnson had created space for himself running from defence, and although the kick from the big ruckman didn't hit Johnson directly, it was put nicely to his favour.
Johnson swooped on the loose ball, ran his full distance and found an open Craig Bird with a nice delivery into a crowded Swans forward 50.
Luckily for Swans fans, Craig Bird went back and calmly converted the ensuing goal - his second of four for the afternoon - and secured the SwansTV Play of the Day for round 18.
The great transition from defence wasn't the only highlight for the Swans in the win over the Bulldogs, and we've compiled a selection of them in our weekly 'Handpicked Highlights' segment.
