Hundreds of kids braved the rain and the cold for the annual Swans Friendly Club SCG Visit yesterday evening.

Budding young footballers from 25 different clubs across the Sydney Swans zone attended the visit under lights at the SCG.

Clubs from within Sydney, as well as clubs from as far as Maitland and the Central Coast were in attendance for the clinic, which enabled participants to watch senior training before taking part in an on-field clinic with the Swans’ players.

Swans Fan Development Executive Michael Martin said the Swans Friendly Club SCG Visit was an exciting opportunity for all the attendees.

“We’ve got kids from clubs all over Sydney here to train on the SCG, under lights, with some of their Swans’ heroes,” he said.

“We see this event as an opportunity to connect with clubs located in our talent zone, and give them a taste of AFL football.”

AFL NSW/ACT Development staffs were also on hand to assist with the clinic, which was run by 28 of the Swans’ senior players including Jude Bolton, Ryan O’Keefe and Rhyce Shaw.
