We take a closer look at some of the potential first round draftees ahead of the National Draft to be held in Sydney on November 25.
The Club will enter the National Draft with live selections at pick 9, 19, 46 and 49.
The following are four of the potential draft prospects predicted by experts to go within the first round.
Jack Scrimshaw - Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro
Height: 194cm
Weight: 80kg
Position: Defender/midfielder
Has the flexibilty to play as a key defender or midfielder but has had his output limited by injuries over the last couple of years. He is good by foot and has the smarts to work through traffic lending him to being a strong midfield prospect. His skill level is of a high calibre and was often the go to man to set up play during the Dragons TAC Cup premiership charge. Has plenty of upside standing 194cm tall with a wide ranging skill set and is expected to be a first round draft choice on Friday night.
Jy Simpkin - Murray Bushrangers/Vic Country
Height: 181cm
Weight: 71kg
Position: Half-forward/midfielder
A broken leg earlier this year has put Simpkin on the sidelines for most of 2016 but his goal smarts as a bottom age player for Vic Country in 2015 was eye catching. During that season he showed pace and creativity playing as a forward which was expected to see him move into the midfield this season. Is a player full of energy both on and off the field that proved his strong decision making skills in testing at the Draft Combine. Played just one game for the Bushrangers this season and looked at home booting four goals.
Will Setterfield - Sandringham Dragons
Height: 190cm
Weight: 80kg
Position: Midfielder
A tall, mobile midfield prospect from the Sandringham Dragons it is no surprise Setterfield is being ranked among the top prospects at the National Draft. He can take a strong mark overhead, his silky smooth foot skills and isnt afraid of the contest when it is his turn to go. During one match late in the season Setterfield collected 10 clearances and had 16 tackles showcasing his ability to play all phases of the game. A member of the GWS Giants Academy, they will have first crack at this highly rated prospect. Setterfield is well known for his mature nature and respectufl personality.
Sam Perevski-Seton - Claremont/Western Australia
Height: 181cm
Weight: 76kg
Position: Midfield/half-forward
Rate by most experts as the best user of the football in this draft pool, Petrevski-Seton can kick on both sides of his body to similar effect. The Western Australian is a smooth mover across the ground and has pace that can burn most opponents. Has shown he is capable of applying strong tackling pressure in particular in the forward line and has a very strong goal sense. Has some flair which comes through on the field but is a cool, composed character off it.
