“You beauty Buddy!”

It was the goal that had the whole football world talking on Friday night as Lance Franklin unloaded a big bomb from inside the centre square.

With under 15 minutes remaining in the match and with the Hawks closing the gap it was Franklin who took it upon himself to stand up and deliver.

Franklin received the handball from big man Callum Sinclair took a few steps before he locked in his target and loaded up towards goal.

It is no surprise Buddy’s long bomb has been nominated for the Round 9 Goal of the Year.
