The peer-voted award was won by Fremantle on-baller Nat Fyfe on 945 votes from Gary Ablett (787), ahead of Franklin (428), Dyson Heppell (274) and Kennedy (234).
On accepting his award, Fyfe praised the Swans pair.
"It's extremely humbling and a little bit embarrassing to be honest, when I look at some of the names up there," Fyfe said.
"I saw first-hand on the weekend how good Josh Kennedy and Lance Franklin are and obviously Gary Ablett, I think everyone still acknowledges he is the best player in the game.
"I'm really grateful for the award.”
Sydney Swans midfielder Ben McGlynn finished fifth in the voting for the AFL’s most courageous player behind Geelong captain Joel Selwood, Callan Ward (GWS), Luke Hodge (Hawthorn) and Rory Sloane (Adelaide).
Also announced on the night, 21-year-old premiership player Luke Parker was named on the wing in the 2014 22Under22 team.
The 22Under22 concept was introduced in 2013 to recognise the best young talent in the competition, as decided by the fans.
The AFL Players’ Association called on all footy fans to help decide the team by picking their best 22Under22 via the AFL Players’ Facebook page last month, with Parker and Harry Cunningham the two nominees from the Swans.
