Midfielder Ben McGlynn led the way for the Sydney Swans in the ten-point loss to Hawthorn on Saturday night and was subsequently rewarded in the voting for AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year Award.

In front of more than 72,000 fans at the MCG, McGlynn picked up 23 possessions, nine tackles, seven inside 50s and kicked three goals against the Hawks, and was rewarded with three votes from the coaches.

McGlynn was just one of two Swans players to receive votes on the night, with defender Dane Rampe picking up one vote for his effort against Hawks forward Jack Gunston.

In addition to keeping Gunston to just one goal for the match, Rampe picked up 24 possessions, nine marks, six rebound 50s and five one-percenters.

Hawthorn midfielder Jordan Lewis was awarded ten votes from the coaches for his 35-possession game, while 200 gamer Jarryd Roughead (seven votes), Sam Mitchell (four votes), Luke Hodge (two votes) and Isaac Smith (one vote) took out the remaining votes on the night.

Despite not polling votes for only the fifth time this season, Josh Kennedy has retained equal second place on the overall leaderboard with 76 votes for the season, while Dockers midfielder Nathan Fyfe holds the lead with 83 votes.
