Dan Hannebery has moved into outright second position in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award after receiving the maximum ten votes from John Longmire and Ross Lyon on Saturday night.

The 22-year-old amassed 27 disposals, five clearances and a career-best four goals in the draw against Fremantle at the SCG, and recorded his second ‘perfect 10’ game in three weeks to move just three votes behind current leader Gary Ablett in the voting.

Co-captain Kieren Jack moved into equal third position in the award after he received eight votes from the coaches for his 33-possession game, which also saw him lay 11 tackles and gather six clearances.

Jack is now tied with Adelaide’s Patrick Dangerfield and Essendon’s Jobe Watson in third position.

Josh Kennedy (three), Nick Malceski (two) and Jarrad McVeigh (one) were the other Swans players to receive votes from Saturday night’s game against the Dockers.
