The QBE Moments competition, which asked fans to send in what their special moment with the Swans would be, granted three lucky winners a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience with the club.
The club received hundreds of fantastic entries for the competition, but three special moments stood out:
QBE Moment #1
Name: Joshua Murphy
Age: 24
From: South Coast, NSW
Joshua Murphy was transformed from local football into a premiership hero when he re-enacted Nick Malceski’s match-winning goal in the dying moments of the 2012 AFL Grand Final. Complete with the number nine guernsey and the famous beard, Josh teamed up with Malceski, Dan Hannebery and Ted Richards on the SCG to re-create the goal, as well as the jubilant celebrations that followed.

QBE Moment #2
Name: Matt Seckold
Age: 27
From: Parramatta, NSW
Drummer Matt Seckold and his band Sanity’s Collision had the opportunity to play a gig for the entire Sydney Swans squad at one of the club’s team lunches. Not only did Matt’s band play a number of rock classics, chosen by the players, they also had the rare opportunity of joining forces with Gary Rohan for a very special rendition of Bon Jovi’s ‘Living on a Prayer’.
QBE Moment #3
Name: Kyan Everson
Age: 9
From: Central Coast, NSW
Kyan Everson lived every junior Swans’ fans dream when he got the chance to run through the banner with the team at the SCG in round 16. Not only did Kyan run through the banner at the beginning of the game, he also had the chance to run through a banner he made himself – like he does for every Swans game - with Sam Reid, Lewis Jetta and Sam Naismith.
