It’s always good to get a win over in Perth because it’s just such a tough trip. We were really pleased with the way the boys went over and got the job done and we couldn’t have asked for anything better than what was achieved over there last weekend.

Dan Hannebery had another terrific day and he certainly stepped it up a notch. We knew he was able to and he really has built up solidly over his short career, but there is no doubt he’s on track to forging a really good career here at the Swans. He is pleasing to watch and is a pleasure to coach really because he is just a hard worker, which was on show against the Eagles last week.

Josh Kennedy was another one who was on his game last week. Josh hasn’t had as much fanfare surrounding his form as he had last year, but that’s good because it’s an indication that other players have stepped up and are helping him out. Now Josh might get some attention, but other guys might as well, but what it means is that if someone is having a bit of a down day, there are others there to pick up the slack and that’s something we’ve been doing very well this year.

Against the Eagles, Josh had a really stock-standard, impressive game, which is what we’ve come to expect, and that included 29 touches and a goal, and he also set up a few.
This week we take on the Tigers, which will be a big test. They beat Freo and they would have set themselves for that one after their performance against North a couple of weeks’ ago and obviously they will be full of confidence heading into Sunday’s game at the SCG.

They beat a team that was in the top four or five in the competition last week, and they’re probably taking confidence out of the last couple of times we’ve played them. We’ve been disappointed with our last few performances against Richmond and we’re looking to rectify that this week.

Last year’s effort against the Tigers was probably one of our worst games for a couple of years, so we certainly won’t be going back to that performance and we’ll need to improve in all areas if we are going to win this week.

Richmond’s midfield is really potent, as is their forward line, which a number of their mids also go through as well. We need to step up our pressure on them this week and we need to make sure our tackling and work rate are both up during the match. We look forward to setting a new tone against Richmond at the SCG on Sunday.

This time of year it’s hard to look too far ahead. It all comes around pretty quickly, so it’s important to stay focused on just this game and we want to get the positive result to keep ourselves in the top four.
