Dan Hannebery's run of good form has been recognised by the AFL coaches with the Sydney Swans midfielder moving into outright second in the AFL Coaches' Association Award behind Gold Coast's Gary Ablett after 11 rounds.

Hannebery's 42-disposal game against Adelaide was enough to propel him past Essendon's Jobe Watson, who failed to poll in the Bombers' thrilling win over Carlton on Friday night.

Swans co-captain Kieren Jack also passed Watson in the overall standings after coaches John Longmire and Brenton Sanderson awarded him eight votes for his 32-disposal effort against the Crows.

Ryan O'Keefe, Jarrad McVeigh and Luke Parker also racked up votes in the Award, while in just his second game of AFL, Tom Mitchell caught the coaches' eye with his 31 disposals securing him three votes.
