Sydney Swans midfielder Dan Hannebery was the standout player in Saturday night’s win over Melbourne and was awarded the maximum ten votes in the voting for the AFL Coaches Association’s Champion Player of the Year award.

John Longmire and Paul Roos each gave their five votes to Hannebery who set the tone for the Swans with 34 disposals, 18 contested possession, 13 clearances and the Swans third goal of the game in a clear best on ground performance.

Luke Parker (26 disposals, seven marks) and Rhyce Shaw (34 possessions, five inside 50s) were the Swans next best players with four votes each, while Kieren Jack and Dane Rampe each picked up three votes.

Josh Kennedy continued his ultra-consistent start to the season, rounding out the votes for the Swans with two, to take his season tally to 16.
