SYDNEY SWAN Amon Buchanan is looking forward to some game time this week after a four-week lay off due to suspension.
Buchanan has been a regular player for the Swans this year compiling 15 matches for 15 goals and nine behinds.
His presence in the forward line has been missed in his enforced absence.
Buchanan, however, has not been resting on his laurels in the past month, training extra hard to maintain fitness.
“Basically, after the disappointment of the suspension wore off, I sat down with the assistant coaches and the fitness staff and mapped out a four-week program,” Buchanan said.
“I have been training with the team and doing extra work to stay on top of my fitness and now I am feeling refreshed.”
The 25-year-old, 103-game, veteran says it has been a long wait to put the boots back on again.
“Four weeks felt like four months!” he added. “I am certainly looking forward to the rest of the season.”
Buchanan thinks that the win against Fremantle will be a turning point for the Swans.
“The win on the weekend was really good for us,” Buchanan said. “It should spark us for the next three weeks and give us some confidence.
“Once you get to the finals it is a whole different ball game and we will be confident once they start.”
