The start of the 2011 season is just around the corner and AFL Dream Team coaches all over the country are busy putting the finishing touches on their line-ups.
At the Swans, Dream Team honours are all important. 16 of our players have been busy plotting their teams, and some of our most dedicated Dream Teamers spoke to sydneyswans.com.au about their squads for 2011.
Gary Rohan
Team name - Rohan’s
Must have player - Heath Shaw because he is consistent and always racks up points.
Must have Swan - Kieren Jack. I’ve told him he needs to get me big points every week.
Best bargain buy - Luke Shuey from the Eagles.
Best tip for putting a team together - Have a good mix of players from different teams so you’re not caught short during the byes.
Hardest player to beat in the Swans Dream Team comp - Dylan McNeil
Marty Mattner
Team name - Moose Heads
Must have player - Andrew Krakouer has had a good preseason and looks as though he will play a fair bit this season.
Must have Swan - Andrejs Everitt has slotted in well in defence and he finds the footy.
Best bargain buy - Daniel Harris. He is a hardened senior player in a young team.
Best tip for putting a team together - Always be aware of who has the bye.
Hardest player to beat in the Swans Dream Team comp - Me!
Dylan McNeil
Team name - D-Macs
Must have player - Brendan Goodard because he can play in a variety of roles.
Must have Swan - Adam Goodes for the same reason as Goddard. He will rotate between forward and the midfield.
Best bargain buy - Andrew Krakouer and Daniel Harris.
Best tip for putting a team together - Try and find players who can play a number of different roles.
Hardest player to beat in the Swans Dream Team comp - Jarred Moore is the defending champion and does put many hours of work into his team.
