Lewis Roberts-Thomson was the lucky Swan to be interviewed by Volkswagen Entertainment Reporter competition winner, Emily Gilvear...
Have you ever dreamed of being the Sydney Swans entertainment reporter for a day?
Swans fan Emily Gilvear did, and won the chance to interview senior player Lewis Roberts-Thomson at last week’s Ladies Lunch as part of the Volkswagen Entertainment Reporter competition.
Emily won her place as the Swans red carpet reporter simply by sending in a question she hoped to ask a Swans player.
“It was a random moment on my lunch break at work and I saw the comp and thought ‘I’m going to ask my question’” Emily said.

“I was then surprised to get a phone call the next day. I had to leave my office - I was just a touch excited!”
Emily brought her mum Gaye along to this year’s event, where the pair received star treatment including being chauffeured to and from the event thanks to Volkswagen.
Emily and Gaye then both had the chance to interview Roberts-Thomson, and asked him about his experiences as a senior player, who the most important ladies are in his life, as well as what he would be doing is he wasn’t an AFL footballer.
Emily said winning the competition was not only a thrill for her, but also the perfect gift for her mum ahead of Mother’s Day this Sunday.
“My mum is the biggest Swans fan around and it’s Ladies Lunch, and it’s Mum’s Day next week so it was perfect and good timing,” she said.
The Volkswagen Entertainment Reporter competition will return next month for the Sydney Swans Trivia Night.
