It's been a wet week in Sydney - aside from yesterday's glorious conditions - and despite the inclement weather, preparations for this morning's Fan Day have not been disrupted, with the Day to go ahead as planned.

Presented by major partner, Volkswagen, Fan Day will be held rain, hail or shine, at the historic Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, March 10 from 11am to 2pm, and is yet again the perfect opportunity to celebrate the start of a new footy season.

Along with appearances from all the Swans players and coaches, Fan Day will also include skills clinics, the QBE Taronga Zoo-mobile, autograph stations, and several familiar attractions from the Volkswagen Fan Zone.

Speaking to SwansTV, earlier in the year, Swans coach John Longmire said Fan Day presented the perfect chance for both players and fans to mix in a relaxed setting before the rigours of the premiership season kick in two weeks later.

“The players enjoy the opportunity. They know that (they) get supported really well by these supporters during the year and they like to say hello to them and mix with them,” he said.

“My kids will be here, so hopefully they don’t get up to too much trouble.”

One of the areas that always proves a hit at Fan Day is the Media Zone, where fans get the opportunity to get behind the mic and ask questions of their favourite Swans players.

Longmire encouraged all Swans supporters to get along to the Media Zone at put the spotlight on the players with some curly questions.

“I think one of the real highlights is that the actual crowd get to ask questions and put some of the players under the heat, which is fantastic. As long as it’s not the coaches,” he joked.
