Swans ball-magent Ryan O'Keefe is one of 10 nominees in the 2011 Philips Sports Dad of the Year award.
The winning Sports Dad of the Year will win $5000 to donate to their favourite charity, with Ryan nominating Redkite as his charity of choice.
Redkite is an official charity of the Sydney Swans, and supports children, young people, and their families through cancer by providing real and practical support through the journey - from the very moment of diagnosis, throughout treatment and when families return home to their community.
Ryan is hoping to become the second straight Swans player to win the award, after retired Swans captain Brett Kirk claimed the title last year.
Ryan is up against some stiff competition this year, with some of the biggest names in Australian sport, including two time grand slam tennis champion Lleyton Hewitt, and Olympian and world champion swimmer Michael Klim, nominated.
He is also up against a pair of AFL premiership winning captains, in Hawthorn's Sam Mitchell and Collingwood's Nick Maxwell.
Vote now for Ryan at www.sportsdads.com.au and view his profile here. Competition closes 30th August and the winning sports dad will be announced on Fathers Day, September 4.
Every person that enters and nominates their favourite Sports Dad has the opportunity to win a $5000 Philips Ultimate Father’s Day Grooming Pack.
