The Sydney Swans reserves have made it three successive wins by over 100 points after they stormed past the Brisbane Lions reserves by 150 points at Blacktown Olympic Park yesterday afternoon.

From the early stages when Trent Dennis-Lane kicked the first of his six goals for the afternoon, the Swans controlled the game and never looked troubled by a Lions outfit that had pushed them so close earlier in the year.

The Swans kicked the first 11 goals of the game before the Lions registered their first in the late stages of the second quarter. The Lions then got another one during the Swans flattest spell of the game, before the home team responded with two of their own to blow the margin out to 73 points at the main change.

The second half was nearly a carbon-copy of the first, with the Swans again piling on 13 goals to the Lions two to more than double their half-time advantage and run out 150-point winners.

Dennis-Lane was the Swans leading goal kicker with six, with Brett Meredith, who returned to the team following senior duty last week, close behind with five from the midfield.

Nathan Gordon was on fire early in the game and finished the game with four goals, to make it ten goals from his last two outing. Although Jarred Moore only scored one goal, he again set up many others in a smart, selfless performance that caught the eye of all at Blacktown.

Jed Lamb and Mike Pyke continued their returns from injury with a couple of nicely taken goals, while top-up Kane Murphy was extremely impressive with four goals in another bold performance.

The Swans reserves will round out the regular season next Saturday afternoon when they travel to second-placed Ainslie in what could be a preview to the Eastern Conference semi-final the following week.
