The AFL has advised an alteration to the fixture for round three of the 2010 AFL Premiership Season, following a request from the NSW State government.

The round three match between the Sydney Swans and Richmond, at the SCG, will now be played as a night match on Saturday April 10 starting at 7:10pm EST.

The NSW government had asked the AFL to consider a change for the SCG game so that it did not clash with the major race meeting - the AJC Derby - to be held at Randwick Racecourse that same day.

"This is a very good result for the fans of our Football Club," General Manager - Marketing, Membership and Fan Development, Anthony Cammell said.

"We appreciate the AFL’s assistance in ensuring Swans members and supporters can more easily access our round three clash with Richmond at the SCG, and we are looking forward to a great turnout from the red and white faithful."

This change will also affect the game between Port Adelaide and the Brisbane Lions, at AAMI Stadium, which will now be played as a day game on the same day starting at 2:40pm local time (3:10pm EST).
