The Sydney Swans reserves are nearing their formidable best, with the inclusion of key talls Mike Pyke and Lewis Johnston further strengthening the team’s spine.

As reported by sydneyswans.com.au during the week, Pyke and Johnston have been named in the side to face Queanbeyan on Sunday afternoon after recovering from a quad and ankle injury, respectively.

The side will also receive a boost with the silky Nick Malceski, and the Conference’s leading goalkicker Trent Dennis-Lane, both dropping back into the team after featuring in last weekend’s one-point loss to Essendon in the seniors.

Matt Spangher, Jed Lamb, Gary Rohan and Campbell Heath will all look to build on their match fitness as they prepare for their second game back from their respective injuries.

The experienced trio of Jesse White, Jarred Moore and Mark Seaby will also continue to push for senior selection.

The Swans reserves will be looking to continue their impressive 2011 form against Canberra sides, with the finals series in the nation’s capital looming on the horizon in just three weeks.
