Swans midfielder Brett Kirk says there will be an extra incentive to beat Fremantle on Saturday night - to bring home the Redkite Cup.

Both Clubs are actively involved with Redkite, a charity that supports children, young people and their families through cancer by providing emotional support, financial assistance and educational services, and since last year have competed for the Redkite Cup.

The Swans currently have possession of the Cup after their four-point victory in last year's inaugural match.

Kirk said the Cup is a great initiative and is hopeful the Swans can bring it home again this year.

“We’ve been involved with Redkite now for as long as I can remember, and it’s just a great charity that looks after kids with leukaemia and their families on a grassroots level. It’s something that we really love being involved in,” he said.

“We get a real kick out of working with the kids and each year we try and get a movie day up and going for them. We spend time with them there and we try and get a game here (at the SCG) where we can raise some more money for Redkite because it is just such a wonderful charity and does great things for the families.”
