Round 3 v Port Adelaide
The Swans made it three wins from as many starts when they travelled to South Australia to take on Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.
The final result was soured by the report - and subsequent suspension - of co-captain Adam Goodes who slid late into a contest with the Power’s Jacob Surjan with his knees.
Leading by three points at the start of the final quarter, the Swans lifted when they needed to as Sam Reid and Goodes kicked the opening goals of the term.
The Swans midfield, led by Dan Hannebery (36 possessions), Josh Kennedy (27) and Luke Parker (30) were influential in the 22-point victory which stretched the Swans’ winning streak against Port Adelaide to eight matches.
