I've seen plenty of Jettas the first two weeks of the season.

In round one when we played Melbourne, my cousin Neville Jetta was playing against us.

We went to school together and grew up together so it was good to see him though I didn’t get a chance to say hello. And then last week when we played Essendon, Leroy Jetta was playing for them.

It was a tough game on Sunday and in the last quarter I really wanted to do something to help the team. The runner was trying to tell me to have a rest but I felt fine and I didn’t want to go off.

I’d had a bad day so I wanted to do something!

I couldn’t get into it so I tried to do all the little things, blocks, shepherds, crumbing and keep trying to help team-mates out.

We won in the end because everyone was giving the effort, chipping in and doing their part and when the pressure is on we know what to do.

We keep to the game plan and structures, if they stay right things can happen. If we don’t and everyone is trying to win the game it won’t work.

It’s so different to when I played my junior footy back in WA. Then it is just go out there and have fun. I remember when I won the leading goalkicking in 2006 when I was playing for Carey Park. It was run inside 50, radar, straight for goals.

Now when you’re inside 50, you see the goals and you know you can make the distance but the coach says you should have passed it and found someone in a better spot!

At three quarter time last week we thought it was winnable. It was just about how much we wanted to win and it showed how much on the weekend we wanted the four points, we kept coming and coming and didn’t stop.

When Goodes went into the centre it made a difference and O’Keefe was great in the packs getting it out with his bigger body and I liked McGlynn’s effort to work hard getting up and back on the ground.

That was just to name a few but it was a team effort to get the win and it’s the same thing we need this weekend if we’re going to have a chance against West Coast - the team I used to barrack for in those junior footy days!
