A long name, and an even longer career, and on Saturday one of the club’s most popular players will reach a significant milestone.

Lewis Roberts-Thomson, known around the traps as LRT, Hyphen or Lewie, will play his 150th game for the Swans against the Dockers at the SCG tomorrow afternoon.

Known for his ability to play in positions right across the field and his cult status among fans, some of LRT’s team mates spoke to sydneyswans.com.au about the big man’s 11-year career at the Swans.

Jude Bolton, who has been at the club since LRT debuted a decade ago, said he remembers one of Roberts-Thomson’s stand-out performances.

“When I think about Lewie I think of probably one of his best games, which was obviously the 2005 grand final,” he said.

“He was stiff to not to win the Norm Smith that day.”

Nick Malceski, who joined the Swans the year after LRT, said Roberts-Thomson’s versatility to play at either end of the ground was his best asset.

“He is a swing player, but I think he has played most of his career down in defence,” he said.

“He probably claims he is one of the best full-forwards to have played as well after kicking three goals against Brisbane.

“He’s had a great career and he is a great story.”
