JOHN Longmire has not guaranteed Nick Blakey a round one debut despite the teenager's terrific showing against Gold Coast on Sunday.

Blakey, the Swans Academy product taken at No.10 in last year's draft, kicked two goals and set up another for Jordan Dawson in the Swans' comfortable 42-point JLT Community Series win in Lismore.

But with Tom McCartin and Oli Florent (foot) likely to come back in for round one calculations, Longmire said Blakey would have to wait to find out his fate.

"We'll see how we go during the next two weeks," Longmire said.

"He won't be playing this weekend in our reserves I wouldn't think. He's had a couple of good hit-outs.

"He contests hard.

"We're not sure which other boys are coming … we'll see how the next two weeks go."

While other players made mistakes around him, Blakey was clean and composed with his 10 disposals, including a nice contested mark and goal against fellow top-10 pick Ben King.

Longmire said it was a nice tune-up for the Swans who escaped without injury, praising the work of Aliir Aliir, who took over the primary ruck duties after Callum Sinclair was a late withdrawal.

"We've used him in there a bit at times, not often … and he's done a pretty good job," Longmire said of his key defender.

"He was good today.

"He gave us some real contest around the centre bonce and some real spring and run-and-carry and gave us another look in our midfield group, which is fantastic."
